Whidbey Island Part 4 Deception Pass

The Day we went to Fort Casey we were within 20 miles of Deception Pass. I know 20 miles isn't far. But that day when the kids hadn't had a nap in 2 days and we already had a 1 hour drive back to the beach house. 2o miles seemed very far. But I wanted no regrets. So we pressed on and went to Deception Pass.
We parked at the Deception Pass Park and started for the trials. Our options were
Beach .2 miles
Deception Pass Bridge .5 miles
Since we were there for the Bridge we pressed on.

As it turns out the path to the bridge was straight up hill for .5 miles. We both had to push the stroller at the same time. By the time we got to the top we were dizzy from the exertion. Then we took a look around and realized two critical errors.
#1 We couldn't see the bridge from underneath it.
#2 There is a parking lot at the bridge, where we had hiked to.
Here was our view.

Our hike back down.

So we decided we'd check out the beach. And we finally found the view we wanted with a leisurely stroll to get to it.

Yes that is a tag on Liam boot. We had just bought them and hadn't removed the tag yet.
For quite sometime I have wanted to see a Sequoia Tree. Not sure if this is one but it was massive and massive is the reason I want to see a Sequoia.

Can you see me hugging it? All the way at the bottom.
Massive.
The view from the bridge.
Love it.
It was worth the extra 20 miles. The beach was lovely.

Such a great photo of the boys holding hands. Looks like a very peaceful vacation you had.

How I could have missed for 3 weeks you had a new post I don't know... What beautiful pictures, but the last one of the boys holding hands is priceless.
