The Truth: Once the beautiful flowers fall off the orchid plant I stop watering them for 3 reasons. #1 They have never bloomed again for me #2 I can't bear to throw away anything living #3 The plant isn't all that pretty without the flowers.
So by depriving the orchid of water it slowly dies. Then I can throw it away guilt free.
This is why Tyson now waters the indoor plants aka the Orchids.
To the story: Two years ago we bought a Plumeria tree/plant for our patio. The Plumeria tree/plant is similar to the Orchid in the sense that it isn't all that pretty without flowers. Imagine my disappointment when for 2 years no flowers. Then about 3 weeks ago I noticed what appeared to be the beginning of flowers. Not so patiently I check everyday to see if I have a flower yet. I am quite excited for these flowers to appear. But wouldn't you know that for about 2 weeks there has been flower buds but as soon as they are large enough to open they fall sadly to the ground never opening and reaching their beautiful potential. So do you think the Orchids and the Plumeria tree have conspired against me because of my non-watering behavior?

It might not be getting enough water or too much sun. Or it heard the rumors about your water deprivation and it's teasing you. :)
